Cherry Blossom Hotspot: Seomjin River Bike Path Cycling & Camping Day 1
Hello, everyone. This is Running Hayoung, #RunningHayoung.
When you think of cherry blossom hotspots, many places come to mind, don't they?
I wanted to combine cherry blossoms with cycling and camping,
so I packed my backpack onto my Brompton (folding bicycle)
and headed to the Seomjin River Bike Path.
According to the Bicycle Happiness Sharing website,
the Seomjin River Bike Path is a premium cycling route that preserves the untouched natural beauty of the Seomjin River.
It's interpreted as a premium cycling route that fully captures the beauty of the Seomjin River in its natural state.
It stretches for 174km, and among all the cycling routes in the country, it is considered the one that best captures the beauty of nature.

It's a 174km stretch, and among the nationwide cycling paths, it's the one that best preserves the beauty of nature.
It's considered the cycling path that best showcases the natural beauty of all the cycling paths in the country.
(The actual course for the entire route is about 149km.)
**10:00 A.M. Boarded the bus to Jeongeup Gangjin**
It wasn't the first bus, but the second one, and
there were so many bicycles, not people,
I wouldn't have been able to fit my bike if it wasn't a folding bike.
Even the existing bicycles had their wheels removed
and were pushed in and stacked... it felt like that.
(According to the comments, there were even more on the first bus.)
I gave the riders who helped us load our bikes
some #OrionProteinBars as a small thank you.
I wanted to help them replenish their energy.
**1:00 P.M. Arrived at Jeongeup Gangjin Terminal**
We arrived, but we hadn't had lunch yet,
so we decided to have a meal first. We found a
Korean set meal restaurant at the terminal and enjoyed a delicious meal.
Furthermore, since we were staying overnight,
we needed to secure our backpacks, tents, and other gear to our bikes
and find rope or straps to tie them down.
**3:30 P.M. Departure**
Finally, we departed. We started a bit late.
The entire route is about 149km, so
we aimed to cover at least 49km that day.
The Seomjin River Sports Complex is only 1.5km from the terminal?
It's very close, so consider the Seomjin River Sports Complex as the starting point.
(We started our Garmin from the terminal and covered 155km.)
**Seomjin River Sports Complex Certification Center**
We started collecting stamps in our cycling journal.
We were now heading towards Jangjunmok,
but this was our first time cycling and camping together,
and it was more inconvenient than I expected.
It's heavy and slow,
so I really missed my road bike.
**Jangjunmok Tourist Area Certification Center**
We arrived at the Jangjunmok Tourist Area Certification Center after cycling about 14km.
There was already a campsite here.
There are no convenience stores for about 14km,
so make sure to bring everything you need.
Next, we head towards Hyangga Tourist Area.
Hyangga Tourist Area is about 25km away.
The road there was quite beautiful.
As we crossed Yupungyo Bridge and came across an open area,
I started to see cherry blossoms blooming.
(There weren't many cherry blossoms for about the first 30km.)
As the sun began to set,
we started looking for a place to set up our tents.
We ended our first day after covering 46km.
It's a 144km, 1-night, 2-day
Seomjin River cycling and camping trip.
I have the task of cycling 100km the next day,
but I'm looking forward to the ride.
Stay tuned for Day 2.
