Notice Regarding Course Deviation in the Yeouido Bamseom Marathon Half Course

Many runners who participated in the Yeouido Bamseom Marathon half course on November 23rd experienced course deviations, right? Especially in the leading group, there was an uphill section immediately after turning left at the 6.5km mark. Since this road was wider than the flat sections, many people deviated from the course. There was no one guiding the runners, and especially since it was an uphill section after the course deviation...hahaha... If you were in the leading group and aiming for an award, many would have been upset. The Yeouido Bamseom Marathon has posted a notice regarding this issue.

Hello, This is a notice for those who deviated from the half course. <b>We apologize for causing the course deviation, regardless of the reason.</b> It was a great day for setting records, but there was some regret. Regarding the course deviation: The volunteer cyclists leading the front group guided the runners correctly. However, due to the distance between the leading and trailing runners, one of the runners in the leading group of the half marathon deviated from the course towards Hangang Park, and other runners following them also deviated towards Hangang Park. This led to many runners deviating from the course. The organizing committee: We thought it was a fantastic course with the autumn leaves, lack of bicycles, a mix of asphalt and dirt paths, and the lush trees on either side of the Poet's Street. We tried hard to create a safe race, and proudly developed a 10km course in Seoul where runners can safely run, but there are many regrets. We apologize for the error and the impact it had on record times. We invite all those who deviated from the course to the Happy Store Marathon on December 1st free of charge.
