Hello, I'm Runninghaeyoung, a woman who loves to exercise. These days, it's been so hot with the heat wave; each day is scorching. On a sweltering summer night, a place where you can enjoy swimming in the water while feeling the cool breeze (It was so crowded that I could only enjoy it. Haha) is the Yeouido Hangang Park swimming pool. I entered the night swimming through Naver reservation. In the heart of Seoul, with the Hangang River as a backdrop, there were so many families enjoying the cool water play.
Operating hours, Parking
I visited the Yeouido Hangang Park swimming pool on Friday. It only opens during the summer each year, and operates only from August 6th to August 18th, but from 7 PM to 10 PM, with a 15-minute maintenance break, the water park operates, so many people were waiting from 6:30 PM.
It's best to park in the Yeouido Hangang Park No. 3 parking lot. It is closest. There's the advantage of being able to start swimming under the sky, which is slowly darkening, while there's still a bit of sun left.
On the left was on-site registration, and on the right was online booking. The on-site registration line was definitely slower to decrease, and if you booked online, they gave you a Chupa Chups drink.
The outdoor swimming pool has a changing room, but it's not partitioned; it's completely open. Just act naturally,... Inside, there are lockers, but I didn't use them, so I don't know the price. And there are showers outside, but not many people seem to be using them.. haha... (I guess the pool water isn't that clean..?)
Parasols are first-come, first-served, and the area near the deeper pool is too crowded. If you want a bit more space, I recommend getting a parasol near the toddler pool. However, there seem to be a bit more bugs there(?)
The Yeouido Hangang Park swimming pool was spacious, and it had a shallow pool and fountain for children, and various amenities were well-equipped, making it very suitable for families. The pool for adults(?) wasn't that spacious, so I went in and came out right away, but the water wasn't that deep, so it was safe to enjoy.
I got a spot in front of the toddler pool, so it was a little more spacious.. The Yeouido Hangang Park swimming pool is more of a place to go into the water briefly with the Yeouido night view as a backdrop, rather than actually swimming. Still, it was charming to relax under the twinkling stars in the night sky. It was relaxing. Even at night, there are adequate lights installed, so swimming is safe, but if you're right in front of the lights, mayflies swarm, and you might find them stuck to your bag later, so be careful. There's also a convenience store next to the pool that sells simple drinks and snacks, which was convenient when I got hungry during water play. You'll need: swimsuit (or rash guard), swim cap, goggles, a mat, and since the convenience store gets crowded, it's good to bring simple snacks. After swimming, it was nice to enjoy simple snacks or relax while enjoying the scenery and the cool summer night air.
I had to #diet, so I brought #oatporridge and ate it deliciously. I'll share the link again!
I especially want to recommend the Yeouido Hangang Park swimming pool to families who love swimming. In the hot summer, I think it's the best place to make precious memories with your family while enjoying swimming in the cool water of the Hangang River. Hahaha Swimming is a really good memory for children. Adults, bring water guns(?) Super fun....
Night swimming has limited hours, so come early and have a great time:)
